The big picture

A Steam Engine Train gives everyone nostalgic positive moments with emotional connect. For many years it has touched millions of lives and connected people and culture.

Spectrum wanted to showcase something unique, challenging and Innovative using corrugated material. The idea for creating a life size Corrugated Train was to show something big which could be created using ecofriendly / sustainable / reusable material which otherwise is used in POP/POSM. Ideation, Design, Prototyping, Final manufacturing to display were all an In-house effort from Spectrum.

Detailing was key in making the train. An Antique British era lantern and Number Plate for the Steam Engine was sourced. The coal storage area of a steam engine was changed into a meeting room for customers complete with corrugated sofas and center table. Further detailing like corrugated chains, rails, piston, breaks, engine whistle and coal pit was provided to provide a dynamic and lively environment. The entire engine and a train dimension 50ft x 10ft x 14ft and the end result and appreciation received proved Spectrum has been successful with this idea and creation.

The Corrugated bogie was used to display various POP/POS manufactured by Spectrum. The complete train became a showstopper at the In-Store Asia 2019 show which in turn won Spectrum the best stall award at this prestigious show. Such was impact and aura of the engine that it was a great honor that Indian Railways displayed the corrugated engine coinciding with World Heritage Day at the CST Railway Station.
